October 2026 FDH foreclosure data snapshot
Published by Foreclosure Data Hub Research Team.
This monthly research snapshot records inventory visible in FDH's dataset during October. It measures source records and scheduled auctions, rather than new foreclosure filings or completed sales for the full month.
| Metric | Source records | Counted at |
|---|---|---|
| Total normalized listing inventory | 204,678 | |
| Auctions dated today or later (UTC) | 34,204 |
How to read these numbers
A property may appear in multiple feeds, so source-record totals are not unique-property counts. A future sale date does not mean an auction will happen: notices can be postponed or withdrawn. Records without a parsed future sale date are not included in the upcoming count.
The totals were counted at different times, as shown above. We do not calculate a share of inventory or a change from last month from these two observations. This is the first report in this snapshot series; there is no comparable prior monthly observation yet.
Inventory and source depth vary by county. These figures do not estimate the national foreclosure rate, the number of U.S. homes in default, or the number of October foreclosure filings.
Source and reuse
Both aggregate counts were observed on the live FDH data-licensing page on October 18, 2026. That page explains that the total uses the same dataset count as an unfiltered dashboard property search. Its timestamps are shown to minute precision. This report preserves those observations; the live page continues to change.
Download the aggregate CSV. When citing this report, include the metric name, its count timestamp, and a link to this page. The CSV contains aggregate counts only; listing records have separate license terms.
