Why county-level coverage matters

A foreclosure is a county-level event from start to finish. The notice of default is recorded with the county, the sale notice publishes on the county's calendar, and the auction happens on the county's sale day, often on the courthouse steps. Statewide lists flatten all of that into one feed and hide where the inventory actually sits.

Each county page shows its own listing count, how many have a sale date still ahead, the next scheduled sale date, how many separate sources contribute to it, and a city-by-city breakdown of where the inventory is concentrated. That is enough to tell a busy market from a quiet one before you spend a day on it.

We publish a page only for counties carrying enough tracked inventory to be worth your time, and county names are validated against the U.S. Census county list, so you will not find a page for a place that is not really a county. See our data methodology for sources, cadence, and limitations.
